Science Outreach Activities for Students and Teachers 

My aspiration to nurture young minds extended also to secondary school students. I organized outreaching and engagement activities for junior, high school, and undergraduate students. 

2021 - 2022

Online Summer Programme for Undergraduates from East China Normal University on Artificial Intelligence (AI): Utopia or Dystopia?

HKU University Knowledge Exchange Impact Project (Co-investigator)

HKU Science, Mathematics, and Art (SMART) Project

  • Organized a two-day activity with lectures and workshops for junior secondary school students

  • Co-organized with Hong Kong Science and Technology Parks

  • Person-in-charge of making the largest balloon Sierpinski tetrahedron in Hong Kong with 100 students.

  • Grant: HK$70,000 (~US$9,000)

Science for Everyone – HKU Sci-Tube Channel Project​

  • Produced 30 science videos on YouTube for dissemination to the general public, especially secondary students.

  • Grant: HK$100,000 (~US$13,000)

Science x Art I & II – Learning Science via Interactive Visual Art

  • Exchange Office, HKU

  • Organized a one-day activity with lectures and workshops for junior secondary school students

  • Students’ artworks made during the workshops were exhibited in various locations including the Hong Kong International Airport

  • Received the Faculty Knowledge Exchange Award 2014, HKU

  • Invited by different secondary schools on the talk “In the world where Pythagoras’ Theorem does not hold”

Teaching Training

  • Held workshops for primary school teachers in how to teach Mathematical Olympiad.

  • Introduced STEM Education to the school teachers.

Junior Science Institute

  • Held workshops “Mathematics: A journey in Different Ancient Civilizations” and “Cryptography: How can I Write My Secret Codes and Crack the Others?” for senior secondary school students

2011 - Present

Mathematical Olympiad

  • Design all questions for the 14th – 22nd SKH (Anglican Church in Hong Kong) Primary Schools Mathematical Olympiad

  • About 400 students participated in the Olympiad each year
